Ultrafiltration
Ultrafiltration is used for the separation of suspended solids, bacteria, virus and other solutes of high molecular weight. Ultrafiltration uses membranes with pore sizes ranging between 1 and 100nm. Contaminants of high molecular weight are filtered out by the membrane while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane.
Applications well served by Ultrafiltration
- Wastewater Treatment
- Food and beverage manufacturing
- Chemical and Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Removal of pathogens from milk
- Cheese manufacturing
- Printing/Ink removal
- Fruit juice concentration and clarification
