SAGE (Solids, Air and Gas Encapsulation) Request a Quote
In the Oil & Gas industry the terms IGF (Induced Gas Flotation) and its more modern sibling DGF (Dissolved Gas Flotation) are known as the preferred methodology to separate oil from water. Building on our 10 years of designing, developing, fabricating, installing and optimizing DAF (Dissolved Air Floatation) systems we have set as our goal to improve the design of DGF systems for the Oil & Gas sector.
The SAGE (Solids, Air and Gas Encapsulation) represents a significant step forward compared to traditional IGF and DGF systems. It has a much smaller footprint than comparably sized IGF/DGF systems in the market. It can also be configured as a DGF, DAF or OWS (Oil-Water Separator), subject to your project's requirements. The SAGE system can cut the size and the CAPEX cost of equipment by up to 50% compared to standard IGF/DGF systems.
Operationally, traditional IGF/DGF systems have several weirs with small outlets spread throughout the length of the unit to collect floating sludge from the effluent water. This approach, however, creates two potential problems. First, locations between the sludge outlets are often dead zones where the sludge remains inside the unit permanently or until it sinks or dissolves again into the stream.
Secondly, in areas next to the sludge outlets, a large volume of water is removed along with the sludge. This, in turn, reduces the DGF efficiency and increases the required size of the dewatering system. Our SAGE system, on other hand, is equipped with an internal linear sludge scrapper that skims the whole surface area efficiently. This optimizes effluent quality and sludge dryness. The explosion-proof SAGE system is hermetically sealed to enable it to recycle gases such as nitrogen in place of atmospheric air, which contains oxygen. The enclosed vessel is odor free. It also contains a bottom auger to remove heavier solids that may sink.
